Cibele - Les Lentilles Vertes du Berry

Cibèle, Interprofessional Company of Berry Lentil Producers, aims to promote and market the Berry lentil and allows the producer to enhance its production. Rigorous monitoring, strict specifications and permanent control by an external certifying body enabled Lentille du Berry to obtain the Label Rouge in March 1996, obtained for the first time by a pulse. Lentille du Berry has also benefited since July 98 from a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication). This European qualification allows the 40 current producers to protect their appellation in their growing area.
